No Need for Video Replay/Review

Hebrews 11:1
As officials, we have likely been there before. It’s a one-score game late in the fourth quarter of a highly anticipated match-up between two good teams. Maybe a championship is on the line. A play transpires, and we must make a call that could decide the outcome of the game – catch/no catch, in bounds or out, fumble or down by contact, score or no score. We train and constantly prepare for that very moment. In high school, there is a good chance that no video replay is available, so we must nail it and get it right in the moment. We make the call, and then the doubt starts to creep in based on the reaction from coaches, players, and fans. We try to go onto the next play, but the previous play swirls in our minds. We think to ourselves, I can’t wait to see the game film to see if I got it right.
As Christians, if we read our Bible every day and put on the full armor of God, pray, and attend church to worship God, we will be fully prepared to make in real time the calls we need to make in life. We won’t need a video review to confirm or correct a call, and we’ll get them right ninety-nine percent of the time. Of course, we won’t be perfect; that’s impossible. However, we’ll be prepared, and we’ll know the call to make. God gives us faith, as described in Hebrews 11:1, and the assurance through His Son, Jesus Christ, that we’ll get it right if we continuously abide in God.
Questions to Ponder:
What do you need to do in your walk with Christ to try to help assure that in your daily life, you get calls right (and without the need for video review)?
