The Rules Seem To Always Change

Every off-season, rulemaking bodies for sports get together and decide whether a new rule needs to be instituted or an old rule changed for the betterment of the game.  A new rule book comes out and case books are written with sample plays to help officials understand how to apply the new or changed rule.  It’s sometimes hard for officials to keep up with new rules or rules that are constantly changing.  However, it’s imperative that officials study and understand these new rules going into the season to ensure contests are officiated in such a way that no team gets an unfair advantage over the other.

However, as Christians, we have a rule book available to us that is constant and never changes – the Bible.  It represents God’s absolute truth – past, present, and future.  While the Bible does provide rules for Christians to follow in their walk, the Bible is so much more than just a rule book and it certainly tops any case book you’ll ever pick up.  It’s the word of God and is probably the most important way God speaks to us.  When we read the Bible, God imparts on us knowledge, wisdom, inspiration, comfort, reassurance, and he prepares us to take on Satan and his lies every day.  It’s the greatest source of spiritual nourishment available to us.  Make sure your Bible is always at your fingertips.  If necessary, install it on your phone and read it every day.

Questions to Ponder:

Is your Bible at your fingertips and do you take time to read it every day?
