Confidence is Key

Related Scripture:
“ Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.” – Acts 4:13.
To be a good official we all quickly learn that confidence is key to success. Confidence can be hard to define and hard to teach, but we all know it when we see it. There is something about a person that leads you to see that they have “it.” In officiating this comes with time and being around other confident officials. It's hard to say when it comes but when it does people notice.
Our Christian life parallels our officiating journey. We come to know Jesus through faith and we start to learn and grow. Then one day those around us “observe the confidence.” This can happen in a moment or over time; each person’s journey is different. However, those around us should see the confidence we have in being with Jesus. The simple day to day actions of our lives should let others see our confidence in Jesus. The way we react, handle, and communicate should be different. Romans 12:2 reminds us “..do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
As officials we spend time renewing our minds in the rule book to build our confidence. Let us take that same time with the Bible so that our minds may be renewed, allowing those around us to see the confidence we have in being with Jesus.
Questions to Ponder:
Will you commit today to spend more time in the Word of God?
Spend time with Him and in His Word with the prayer that He will give you confidence others can see.
