Let Your Light Shine

Related Scripture:

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.  Then he said to his disciples, the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.”   Matthew 9:36-37

This week marks the two-year anniversary of Fellowship of Christian Officials (FCO).  When God spoke and directed me to start FCO, little did I know that two years later we would have close to 800 members nationwide representing all types of sports officiating at all levels – from youth to professional sports.  However, as Matthew alludes to in Chapter 9, the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.  Our work never stops and we still have so much to do.

As members of FCO, we need to continue to work to harvest people for Christ.  Each time we step on the field, court, or take to the mat, we need to let our light shine and take advantage of the opportunity to minister to players, coaches, and even the fans with the way we go about officiating no matter what level.  We need to encourage and lift each other up and read God’s word every day just like we read our rule books so we’re ready for the harvest when the time comes.  I am honored and blessed to be a part of a wonderful group of men and women sports officials who strive each day to live out their sole purpose in life – to live each day to glorify God.

Thank You, Jesus!

Questions to Ponder:

Why did you join FCO?

What are you doing with God’s gift of officiating to further his kingdom?
