Engage With The Gospel

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” – Mark 16:15
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is for the entire world to see, hear, and experience. Sadly, many will ignore it or flat-out reject it. As disciples of Christ, we are called to make disciples. We are not responsible for anyone else’s decisions or commitments, but we do have a critical part in making it accessible.
What is the Gospel? God loves us. Sin separates us. Jesus rescued us. Will we trust Him? What does it mean to preach? It means to act as a herald or make a public proclamation with authority. The “preacher” did not create the message; they are only speaking on behalf of the authority figure (Jesus); this is not his or her opinion. You don’t need to attend seminary, have a degree or license, or even be a great public speaker. You can “preach” the Gospel very practically.
Preach or share the Gospel naturally along your officiating journey (and beyond). When I depart any hotel room, I write a short note to my housekeeper telling them I prayed for them (which I do) and that Jesus loves them and He is the way. I write a similar note to the chain crew and locker room attendant. There are many other ways you can preach the Gospel without a microphone or pulpit. Preach the Gospel by living it in front of people. Preach it in spoken word. Preach it in written word. Preach it with items and resources like wristbands or stickers.
Pray and ask God for wisdom and opportunities to engage with the Gospel.
Questions to Ponder:
How will I engage with the Gospel in my officiating community?
How will I engage with the Gospel in other spheres of influence?
